This lawsuit alleges defects in the EcoBoost engines causes coolant to leak into the cylinders in the 1.5L, 1.6L and 2.0L engines. This causes the engines to overheat, fail and catch fire.
According to the Ford EcoBoost class action lawsuit, the engines have inadequate seals on the cylinder heads and grooves where the cylinder heads attach to the engine blocks. Coolant allegedly enters through the grooves where it pools and degrades the gasket seals and causes coolant to leak into the cylinders.
A class action lawsuit alleges the engine flexplate in the 2015-2018 Edge is defective which causes the SUV to suddenly stall and come to an unexpected stop. According to the plaintiff, the rattling noise occurs in the 2-liter EcoBoost engines in four specific trims.
Ford Explorer carbon monoxide and exhaust fume concerns will be tackled by the automaker as Ford announced complimentary service for 1.4 million model year 2011-2017 non-police Explorers in North America.
A Ford carbon monoxide lawsuit alleges 2016-2017 Ford Explorer, 2007-2013 Ford Edge and 2007-2015 Lincoln MKX vehicles have defects that allow exhaust fumes and carbon monoxide to enter the vehicles and sicken occupants.
A Ford sudden deceleration lawsuit alleges a host of vehicles have defective electronic throttle body control systems that cause the vehicles to suddenly and dangerously lose power.
Plaintiffs Janis Benkle and John Kovak say the affected Ford and Lincoln vehicles are equipped with 3.7-liter Ti-VCT engines with Delphi Gen 6 electronic throttle bodies that experience electrical problems with the powertrain control modules.
Ford may have used obsolete Takata replacement parts during a previous recall, extending what already feels like a never-ending airbag saga.
Some Ford dealerships kept defective parts on their shelves long after they should have been tossed, and those wound up being used in vehicles as part of a collision of theft repair. Now Ford needs to re-recall 154,000 vehicles to inspect part numbers and replace the inflators if neccessary.…keep reading article "Ford Recalls Trucks That Received Obsolete Replacement Takata Parts"
Ford is recalling a problem that can cause a sudden loss of power while driving or an unexpected rollaway while parking. Neither of these things are ideal.
The issue revolves around excess vibration that can prematurely snap a link shaft bracket somewhere in the powertrain. I'm guessing the transmission? Maybe the flux capacitor? Who can say for sure.…keep reading article "Little Known Bracket Recalled For Causing Big Time Problems in 16,000 Ford Vehicles"
Look who’s back in the news – Takata airbag inflators, the long-running nemesis of peace and joy, will need to be replaced in 953,000 Ford vehicles.

Ford has issued a small but important electrical recall for 87 vehicles with improperly secured power supply cables.
The cables are at the starters and alternators and the unsecured connections could cause electrical arcs. Those arcs could easily start fires.
There are so many recalls these days that it’s no longer shocking when brand new vehicles get called back for repairs. But it really makes you wonder wire these automakers can’t get their act together.

Ford has reluctantly settled a class-action lawsuit for using defective Takata airbags.
Although agreeing to settle the case without the court deciding right or wrong, Ford continues to deny all liability and wrongdoing concerning the vehicles. The automaker says it decided to settle to get the matter over with and avoid the cost of further litigation.

You know what feels like a long time ago? The first Takata inflator recall in May of 2013.
That’s back when we were young and optimistic that the issue would be resolved quickly.

Especially as we stare down the barrel of another recall expansion for passenger-side inflators in the Mustang, Edge, Fusion, and Ranger. CarComplaints.com has information on which model years and zones.…keep reading article "It Never Ends. Takata Recalls Expanded by 328,000 Vehicles"
Like it or not, Ford is going to need to recall nearly 3 million vehicles with Takata airbags.
Back in July, Ford filed a petition to delay the recalls so they could investigate the matter further. Time’s up.
“NHTSA says the request for additional testing by the automakers isn't reasonable based on the data that has been collected.”
This isn’t a no harm, no foul situation. Delaying the recall puts people’s lives at risk and it’s not a good look for Ford.keep reading article "Ford’s Petition to Stop Takata Recall Has Been Denied"
